Celebrating my sweet girl! Today, Japan celebrates Celebrating my sweet girl! Today, Japan celebrates Hinamatsuri, 🎎 or Girl’s Day, to pray and wish for young girls happiness and growth. On March 3rd, families with daughters, display a set of beautiful Hina dolls dressed in ancient costumes arranged on different steps. Families arrange their dolls out for display beginning in mid February and take down the display as close to March 3rd as possible. It is said that if a Hinamatsuri display is taken down too long after this date the family’s daughter will marry late, perhaps not at all 😳 good thing we didn’t put up a display, no dolls no problem 😉 Blessings to my sweet Mila Lakshmi 😘#hinamatsuri #thetokyomom #girlsday #dollsday #thisisjapan #visitjapan #tokyomom #kidsinjapan

Emperor Kameyama thought the moon looked like it was crossing the bridge 🤷🏽‍♀️ also just learned that this bridge is a site of an important initiation for local children. The children first receive blessings from a local temple and then they make their way across the bridge under orders to do so without looking back, if ignored, it is said to bring bad luck. 😯 #thisisjapan #thetokyomom
